I am happy to have completed my second Two Oceans Ultra Marathon. I’m also celebrating, aka laughing and crying at the things that humble you. Specifically, after running a big race. At least for me. I am writing this on the first Monday after completing the Two Oceans. Anyways, these are some of the things that will ‘humble’ you after running an ultra-marathon.

The Humbling Flights of Stairs
How does this always seem to happen? Somehow, I have not been able to avoid stairs after a race. While I must deal with them at home, they seem to lurk in abundance. Always not far from the finish line.
Strava Weekly Snapshot
I love giving kudos. One of my favourite this is to do is giving friends and fellow warriors kudos after a race. Strava is arguably the best place to give kudos to a runner. Yes, you can do that on other platforms, but it just hits different on Strava.

Anyways, nothing is as humbling as one’s weekly snapshot on Strava after a weekend of significant effort.
What other things do you find as “humbling” as runner after a notable endeavour?
